Concepts for tables and seating for capturing opportunities discovered during the research phase. What needs do people working at Starbucks have? How do they differ from the needs of people who are only there to eat and drink coffee?
The Tatonka stool was one of two concepts to be further developed. The other was the Orion Co-Working Table. The Tatonka Stool addresses the lack of secure, clean places to place your belongings while seated, and the need for businesses like coffee shops to be able to stack stools in order to save space and when cleaning the floors.
Prototype stools were welded together from basic carbon steel to test the scale of the members and the height of the stool. The final stools were made of welded stainless steel frames with a buffalo leather cushion and sling. Custom spherical feet were 3D printed and cast in a durable urethane rubber using a silcone mold.
